When searching for examples of good presentation, I came across the steam page for Dishonored 2, which I found to be quite good. The presentation of games on steam are usually good, but I appreciated several more things about this specific page, such as the inclusion of multiple trailers and videos, as well as many screenshots from the game. The videos aren’t limited to just game trailers, as there are some that show behind the scenes footage of the game’s development, as well as some interviews with some of the game’s designers. This gives a much deeper look into the game itself, which is quite a large game, and provides a further insight into the story and gameplay.

Below this is the reviews of the game. This provides an indication to the player of just how good the game is, with all the high endorsements from various review companies and game companies. Just below the bundles section is the game’s story and about section. This also provides possible players with a brief synopsis of the game’s style, setting and story so that they know what is going on and what happened in past entries in the franchise.

I then looked at the presentation of the Bioshock collection, which is a similar setting in terms of the time period, and is a steampunk shooter, as opposed to a steampunk stealth game. This game’s presentation on the epic games store leaves a lot out, as it only features seven screenshots at the top, and features six slightly further down, this doesn’t do a very good job of showing what the actual game is like to people, as thirteen total screenshots can’t possibly do anything to show what the gameplay looks and feels like across three different games.

After this is the game’s description, which is incredibly short. This does an even worse job of telling the player what to expect, as it describes the game in an incredibly vague manner, such as “unforgettable worlds and monumental stories”, which does nothing to tell the player what they will be seeing.

This is the banner I designed for my itch.io page. This particular shade of red is the same shade as the Albanian flag, and spans across the top of my itch page. The text is actually in the “Northead” font, which I also used for the below monitor frame.

This is my design for the monitor frame for the end of year show. I decided to go for a very simple approach, including the Albanian flag at the bottom and the game’s banner at the top. The left features the controls list for the game, which is a short list of very simple controls. The right features the game’s objective, which just tells the player what they are doing and why, in the context of the game’s story.

After reviewing other games and their presentation pages, I decided to make my itch.io page. It is clearly heavily inspired by the Albanian flag and the colour scheme. It features screenshots from the game, as well as a background featuring some of the artwork that is in the game itself. The banner is the one mentioned above, which is in the Northsead font, and the actual game load screen is a large rendering of the Albanian flag, which I had to resize in photoshop so that it could fit into the screen.
